Introduction
Veribook is an online scheduling service used by medical clinics to enable their patients to schedule online. Here is an example of how we work with clinics to enable patients to schedule online.
No two clinics are exactly the same; the following is intended only to be illustrative.
Step 1: Patients Access a Booking Page
This busy family practice uses Veribook to enable their patients to schedule online.
Once patients register with the clinic and are assigned to a family doctor, they can access a booking page specific to this clinic to select their own family physician.
Step 2: Navigate the Clinic's Booking Workflow
The appointment times that are made available to patients are specific to the type of appointment required, and can vary in terms of length, how far in advance appointments can or must be booked, as well as the special instructions provided.
Step 3: Patients Complete the Scheduling Form
When scheduling, patients select from the available appointment times, and will usually be asked to supply a patient name, patient health number, and a reason for visit.
Step 4: OSCAR EMR Integration
As part of the booking process, Veribook checks to ensure the patient is authorized to schedule appointments online with this clinic, confirms the identity of the patient in real-time with the clinic’s electronic medical record, OSCAR EMR, and automatically inserts the appointment into the physician’s schedule in OSCAR EMR already linked to the correct patient record.
Step 5: Immediate Web Confirmation
The patient is also provided an immediate confirmation of the appointment on their device, and an email confirmation is sent to the patient with further information. A reminder is also sent automatically a day before the patient’s appointment, to further reduce no-shows.
Step 6: Email Confirmation and Reminder
An email confirmation will be sent to the email address used to book the appointment, as well as a reminder.
Please review these emails carefully to ensure you arrive prepared and on-time.
Step 7: Cancellations and Rescheduling
Patients can cancel or reschedule appointments online as well, in accordance with the deadlines set in place by the clinic.
Cancelled appointment timeslots are immediately made available to other patients, to minimize unnecessary downtime and gaps in the day.
